 | Gateway Graduate School is pleased to announce the latest Top-up pathway for students who complete the Edexcel BTEC HNDs where they are able to obtain University of Wales Degrees by studying in Sri Lanka. In wishing its newest accredited BTEC Centre, Edexcel extends its support to Gateway to open up the University of Wales online top-up degree programmes in Business and Computing to Edexcel HND students. The first intake will be from September 2010 and applications are invited from now on. Gateway Graduate School, in partnership with NCC Education UK, offers a choice of two career pathways to complete Degrees in Business Computing and Information Systems or Business Administration, here in Sri Lanka. The B.Sc. top-up is delivered by NCC Education and is validated and awarded by the University of Wales. Both Top-up programmes are made up of six 15-credit modules that consist of weekly video lectures, tutorial exercises and live chat sessions with subject experts. Students also interact with other students from around the world and with subject experts through discussion forums. In normal full-time delivery, the programme is delivered in two 15 week semesters (12 teaching weeks). A BSc (Hons) will be awarded when a student has successfully passed all modules. Edexcel BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) have obtained recognition throughout the world as both a route to employment and as a suitable exemption for a part of a university degree. Gateway Graduate School, which was launched in August 2008, offers students an affordable option of obtaining internationally recognised degrees right here in Sri Lanka. The courses are offered on both part-time and full-time basis and students have the option of completing the full programme in Sri Lanka or transferring to overseas universities in the UK, USA or Australia at the end of every academic year.
